Investment, Tourism and Culture Promotion Programme in Pattaya, Thailand

The Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok, in cooperation ofNRNA NCC Thailand and Thai-Nepali Association (TNA),organized “Nepal Evening 2019” programme in Pattaya, Thailand on 12 July 2019 with the objectives of attracting Thai investment in Nepal, publicizing the Nepal’s tourism attractions and familiarizing Nepali cultures among the Thai people.

Welcoming the guests in the programme, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand H.E. Mr. Ganesh Prasad Dhakal highlighted the existing bilateral relations between Nepal and Thailand and potentials for bilateral cooperation in various sectors including investment, tourism and civil aviation. He shed light on the several policy, legal, institutional and procedural reform measures undertaken by the Government of Nepal for providing incentives and security for foreign investors in Nepal. He requested the Thai investors for their investment and technology transfer in infrastructure, hydropower, agriculture, manufacturing, mines and minerals, IT, health and hospitality sectors.

The Ambassador also requested the Thai travel/tour operators to publicize the tourism attractions of Nepal among Thai people and encourage them to visit Nepal in order to make the Visit Nepal Year 2020 successful. Sharing about the ongoing construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa, he said that the completion of this airport would provide tremendous opportunities for further promoting religious tourism between the two countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rattanachai Suttidechanai, Advisor to the Mayor of Pattaya City, expressed the views that the two countries have potentials of promoting bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, tourism, trade and culture. He also requested the audiences to visit different parts of Nepal including Lumbini.

Mrs. Pratigya Rai, Second Secretary of the Embassy, made a presentation on tourism attractions in Nepal.

A significant number of travel/tour operators, businesspersons, media persons, and representatives of NRNA NCC Thailand and TNA were present in the programme.

On the occasion, investment and tourism related promotional materials were distributed and Nepali cultural performances were presented.

The programme remained effective to further promoting the prospects of investmentand technology transfer in Nepal,publicizing Nepal’s tourism attractionswith focus on Visit Nepal Year 2020 and familiarizing Nepali culture among Thai people.
