Press Release: Tourism Promotion Programme in Bangkok

The Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok organized a tourism promotion programme in Bangkokm on 13 June 2017. The programme was organized under the theme of Nepal is Beautiful: Visit, and Enjoy in Nepal.

Welcoming the participants, H. E. Ambassador Dr. Khaga Nath Adhilari talked about the tourism opportunities in Nepal and especial attractions for Thai visitors, including Lumbini and trekking. He also briefed the participants about the investment opportunities in Nepal in tourism sector. Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Janga Bahadur Gurung made a presentation on tourism opportunities in Nepal, highlighting three areas: Adventure, Nature and Culture. First Secretary Mr. Ramesh Kumar Charmakar made a detailed presentation on trekking in Nepal. He briefed the audience about the scenario, trend and prospects of trekking in Nepal and also highlighted practical aspects of trekking. It may be noted that the visitors have been found increasingly interested in trekking in Nepal, and the Embassy has been highlighting this area for about a year now.

Nepali cultural performances were also presented during the programme. The performances were coordinated by Thai Nepali Association.

Earlier, Mr. Sutham Sachabimukh, Public Relations Representatives of Nepal Tourism Board in Bangkok, Mr. Sombat Rai from Thai Nepali Association, and Mr. Ganesh Khanal from NRNA, Thailand also addressed the gathering and encouraged Thai nationals to visit Nepal.

A large number of participants, including travel/tour operators, media persons, prospective tourists and representatives of the Nepalese community in Thailand participated in the programme.

The programme is believed to have contributed to giving added publicity about Nepal in Thailand and thereby promoting Nepal’s tourism.
