The Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok hosted a reception in a hotel in Bangkok yesterday to celebrate the 4th Constitution Day and National Day of Nepal.

H.E. Mr. Chirayu Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, Privy Councillor of the Privy Council Chambers of the Kingdom of Thailand attended the function as Chief Guest. H.E. Mr. Suchart Tonjaroen, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representative, National Assembly of Thailand also graced the occasion.

Welcoming the guests, H. E. Mr. Ganesh Prasad Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Kingdom of Thailand extended greetings on the happy occasion of the Constitution Day and National Day of Nepal. He highlighted the importance of the Constitution Day. While sharing the Government’s announcement of Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign, H.E.Ambassador requested the guests and through them to their friends and relatives to visit Nepal for lifetime experiences.

The program was commenced with a cultural performance. A group of cultural troupe from Thai Nepali Association and Cultural Explore Nepal presented live cultural dances representing different regions and ethnic communities of Nepal. Typical Nepali cuisines were served in a separate Nepali food corner.

The Embassy utilized the occasion to promote the Visit Nepal Year 2020. The photo booth on the theme of Visit Nepal Year 2020 was one of the attractions of the programme. Similarly, the Embassy also displayed large-sized banners of Visit Nepal Year 2020 and Visit Lumbini including display boards of tourism attractions on the way to the reception hall. Digital display of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 and major tourist attractions were screened in the program hall throughout the event. Nepali exportable goods including Nepali handicrafts, metal crafts, silver jewelries and pashmina products were displayed. Tourism promotional materials were also distributed.

On the occasion, a significant number of heads of diplomatic missions, government officials, representatives of Bangkok-based international agencies, Nepali professionals working in various International and regional agencies, academics, scholars, media persons, travel/tour operations, members of the NRNA, Thai-Nepali Association (TNA) as well as friends and well-wishers of Nepal were present.

The programme was supported by various organizations, including NRNA, Thai-Nepali Association, Nepal Airlines Corporation, Western Union, Lalit Mandap Travel.

Earlier in the morning, the Embassy organized a flag hoisting ceremony at its premises. On the occasion, National Anthem of Nepal was played. After hoisting the flag, H. E. Ambassador shed lights on the importance of Constitution Day and National Day of Nepal. The members of Nepali community and diplomatic staffs and their family members were present on the occasion. A banner of Visit Nepal Year 2020 was affixed on the driveway wall of the Chancery after the ceremony. Arrangement has been made to illuminate the Chancellery building of the Embassy in the evening for three consecutive days to mark the occasion.
