Business/Tourism Promotion Programme in Vientiane, Laos

 

The Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok organized a Business/Tourism Promotion programme in Vientiane, the capital city of Lao PDR, on 1 December 2017. The programme was organized under the theme of ‘Business Opportunities in Nepal’ and covered trade, tourism and invest opportunities in Nepal.

Mr. Thanongsinh Kanlagna, Acting President of Laos’ National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, travel agencies/tour operators, business community and media as well as Nepali community in Vientiane participated in the programme.

H. E. Dr. Khaga Nath Adhilari, Ambassador of Nepal, welcomed the participants, and made a detailed presentation on trade and investment opportunities in Nepal. ย He highlighted the facilities available for foreign investors and also detailed the areas for investment.

First Secretary Mr. Ramesh Kumar Charmakar made a presentation on tourism/trekking opportunities in Nepal. In his presentation, he highlighted tourism attractions and opportunities in Nepal, focusing on three areas: Adventure, Nature and Culture.

Mr. Thanongsinh Kanlagna, the Acting President of Laos’ National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also addressed the gathering. He stated that Nepal and Laos are very good friends, and that there exist many opportunities for promoting business relationship between the two countries. He also thanked the Embassy of Nepal for organising the programme in Vientiane.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Shah, a Nepali businessman in Vientiane, who greatly helped in organising the programme, proposed a vote of thanks to the participants.

This is the first time that the Embassy of Nepal organised a programme in Laos focusing on business opportunities in Nepal. The programme is believed to have contributed to giving added publicity about Nepal and thereby promoting Nepalโ€™s business/investment/tourism.
