Promotional Programme in Bangkok
The Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok organized a Business/Tourism promotion programme in Bangkok on 28 June 2018. The programme was held under the theme of ‘Business Opportunities in Nepal’, with the objective of promoting Nepal-Thailand trade and investment relations as well as promoting Nepal’s tourism. A large number of participants including Thai government officials and representatives from Federation of Thai Industries, travel and tour operators, media, Non-Resident Nepali Association in Thailand, Thai Nepali Association and other people participated in the programme.
Welcoming the participants, H. E. Ambassador Dr. Khaga Nath Adhikari highlighted Nepal-Thailand trade relations, the business/investment opportunities in Nepal, and tourism scenario of Nepal. He invited Thai businessmen to invest in Nepal and also encouraged travel and tour operators to send their customers to visit Nepal.
Mr. Sutham Sachabimukh, Public Relations Representatives of Nepal Tourism Board in Bangkok, also addressed the gathering and encouraged Thai nationals to visit Nepal and also to invest in Nepal.
Counsellor Mr. Janga Bahadur Gurung made a presentation on ‘Business Opportunities in Nepal’. He gave a detailed presentation on various areas on which foreign investors can start business in Nepal and also mentioned the various facilities & incentives for investors.
First Secretary Mr. Ramesh Kumar Charmakar made a detailed presentation on tourism opportunities in Nepal. In his presentation, he highlighted tourism attractions and opportunities in Nepal, focusing on three areas: Adventure, Nature and Culture. It may be noted that Thai visitors have been found increasingly interested in trekking in Nepal; and the Embassy has been highlighting this area in such programmes.
Ms. Gatesuda Pradajee, Secretary General of Thailand Mountaineering and Trekking Club, also made detailed presentation on ‘Trekking Opportunities in Nepal’ in Thai language, which had drawn the attention of travel and tour operators as well as other participants.
The programme is believed to have contributed to giving added publicity about Nepal and thereby promoting Thai investment and tourism in Nepal.
