The Lalitpur Metropolitan Organisation, Ward No. 16, is organizing the Crafts and Culture Festival, 2019, in Lalitpur, Ward No. 16, in Nepal on 27-31 March 2019. The objectives of the Festival are to further promote Lalitpur as a handicraft city and also to promote local handicrafts business.

Lalitpur is a world-famous place for traditional arts, culture and handicrafts. It boasts world heritage site, the Patan Durbar Square and Hiranyavarna Mahavihar. The livelihood of more than 60 per cent of the local population is related to handicrafts business.  Handicrafts are the lifeblood of the people of Patan area.

The Festival will feature cultural and entertaining performances as well as display of educational, awareness-raising and informative materials at different places. The organisers also plan to develop Patan as a venue for Shopping and Dinning Evening.

All interested tour/travel agencies and individuals are encouraged to give publicity to, and participate in, the Festival, and enjoy their visit in the area as well as have better understanding and appreciation of Nepal’s famous cultural heritage and artefacts.
