Presentation of the Letters of Credence to the State President of Viet Nam

Ambassador H.E. Mr. Ganesh Prasad Dhakal presented the Letters of Credence to H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, State President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, accrediting him as non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam amidst a special ceremony organized at the Presidential Palace, Hanoi yesterday.

Following the ceremony, Ambassador Dhakal paid courtesy call on the President of Viet Nam H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc. During the call on, Ambassador conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes from the Rt. Hon’ble Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal and Rt. Hon’ble Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prime Minister of Nepal as well as from the people of Nepal for personal good health and happiness of H.E. President as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Viet Nam.

Ambassador said Nepal and Viet Nam enjoy excellent bilateral relations marked by friendship, cordiality, mutual respect, and cooperation. He also said the exchange of high-level visits have further strengthened these ties. Ambassador expressed his confidence that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would further grow during the term of office of the President.

While welcoming Ambassador, H.E. President extended his greetings and best wishes for the personal good health and happiness of the Rt. Hon. President, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister as well as for the prosperity of Nepali people.

President cherished Nepal as the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. He also said the relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the coming days.

During the presentation ceremony, senior government officials were also present.

Later yesterday, Ambassador called on H.E. Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam. During the call on, the two sides exchanged views to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador also met Mr. Phan Hung Tam, Director General of the South East Asia- South Asia-South Pacific Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday.

The Embassy of Nepal in the Kingdom of Thailand is concurrently accredited to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
